The East Coast USA and Canada tour begins in New York and ends in New York.Discover the highlights of East Coast USA and Canada on this fascinating itinerary that shows you the best of New York, Washington D.C., Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and Boston. Among exciting city discoveries, you’ll also catch a glimpse of traditional life in Amish Country and view the spectacular Niagara Falls aboard the Maid of Mist.

Day 1
ARRIVE NEW YORK CITY
Welcome to New York! A complimentary transfer is provided to the tour hotel where your Tour Director will be on hand to greet you. At 6 p.m., gather at the hotel with your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception.
Day 2
NEW YORK - PHILADELPHIA - WASHINGTON D.C.
Take a bite of the Big Apple. View the Statue of Liberty, the towering Empire State Building, pulsating Times Square and grand Central Park. Travel on to the City of Brotherly Love and a visit to the Liberty Bell Center. View Independence Hall, site of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, before travelling on to Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital. Settle in and savour a Highlight Dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 3
WASHINGTON D.C. SIGHTSEEING & FREE TIME
Immerse yourself in the proud heritage of a nation today as you view the White House, and the U.S. Capitol and visit the Lincoln Memorial, the World War II and Vietnam War memorials. Then board a narrated Tourmobile and learn about the heroes at rest at Arlington National Cemetery. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure—perhaps visit one of the Smithsonian’s museums or galleries or take a stroll around Dupont Circle.
Day 4
WASHINGTON D.C. - LANCASTER COUNTY/AMISH COUNTRY
Roll back in time to explore the rural back roads of Pennsylvania’s Lancaster County with a Local Guide. Visit with an Amish family at their homestead and learn about the traditional agricultural lifestyle of the Amish and the Mennonites, who live much the same as they did when they first settled here over 200 years ago. Tonight, after a hearty Highlight Dinner, join your hosts to prepare whoopie pies, a delicious Amish speciality for your dessert.
Day 5
LANCASTER COUNTY - NIAGARA FALLS
Journey across Pennsylvania through the eastern corner of New York and into Canada to reach the pot of gold at the end of the Rainbow – the majestic Niagara Falls. This evening, visit a family-owned winery for an exclusive tour and tasting of their award-winning wines, including ice wine, the region’s speciality. Later, relax with a Be My Guest Dinner with bucolic views of the vineyard.
Day 6
NIAGARA FALLS - TORONTO
After soaking up the panoramic views and thunderous roar of the falls, set out on the Maid of the Mist for an exhilarating boat ride to the base of spectacular Horseshoe Falls. Look over your shoulder to catch a last glimpse of a rainbow before leaving this magical setting. Travel on to the picturesque community of Niagara-on-the-Lake before arriving on the shores of the Great Lake Ontario and cosmopolitan Toronto.
Day 7
TORONTO SIGHTSEEING & FREE TIME
Start the day with an orientation tour of Toronto, viewing the grand castle residence of Casa Loma, sprawling Queens Park and the Provincial Parliament Buildings. The remainder of the day is yours to explore this exciting city on your own. If you like, take in the sunset and the glittering city skyline from the water on an optional dinner cruise of the Toronto Harbor.
Day 8
TORONTO - OTTAWA
Travel to Ottawa, Canada's stately capital. Enjoy an introductory tour of the city, including the elegant buildings of Parliament Hill; Rideau Hall, the residence of the Governor General of Canada and the beautiful downtown galleries and museums.
Day 9
OTTAWA - MONTREAL
Today takes you from Canada’s administrative capital to the cultural heart of French Canada and the largest French-speaking city outside France. This evening, enjoy a Highlight Dinner at a restaurant in charming Old Montreal.
Day 10
MONTREAL - QUEBEC CITY
Your expert Local Guide introduces you to the pleasures of Montreal, including the spectacular Notre-Dame Basilica, the port area and Place Jacques-Cartier, epicenter of the old city. Stop at Mount Royal for a panoramic view, and then wind your way along the beautiful St. Lawrence River to the fortified walls of Quebec City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 11
QUEBEC CITY SIGHTSEEING & FREE TIME
Explore Quebec City’s winding streets and historic sites with your Local Guide. Learn about the city’s French and English military past at the fortified Citadel and the Plains of Abraham, the site of a major colonial battle. This afternoon, perhaps visit a gallery, take a carriage ride through the cobblestone streets or simply relax at a sidewalk cafe.
Day 12
QUEBEC CITY - FRANCONIA NOTCH - BOSTON
Leave the birthplace of French Canada and cross back into the United States. Traverse New Hampshire on your way to Franconia Notch in the heart of the White Mountains. As you make your way through forests of sugar maple and white birch, watch for the black bear, moose and deer that call this area home. Arrive in Boston and enjoy your evening at leisure.
Day 13
BOSTON SIGHTSEEING & FREE TIME
Immerse yourself in Boston’s rich history, from the Old North Church to Boston Harbor, site of the famous Tea Party, and along the Freedom Trail. This afternoon, continue your exploration as you please -- visit the bar that inspired the TV show Cheers or explore the lovely Public Gardens. If you like, take an optional tour of Harvard University, America’s oldest university. This evening, toast your holiday and your newfound friends at a Farewell Dinner.
Day 14
BOSTON - NEWPORT - DEPART NEW YORK CITY
Once the summer home of the Vanderbilts, Astors and Carnegies of the world, the seaside town of Newport now offers history aficionados a wealth of stunning architectural landmarks. See the rows of mansions along Ocean Drive before returning to New York. A complimentary transfer is provided to New York JFK International Airport and the tour hotel in New York for those extending their stay.
